UEM Group Enables Data-Driven Decision-Making with Oracle Cloud

UEM Group Berhad (UEM Group), Malaysia's leading engineering-based infrastructure and services group, said that several of its subsidiaries namely, PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) and UEM Edgenta Berhad (UEM Edgenta) are now live on Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) while the same two companies together with UEM Sunrise Berhad (UEM Sunrise) have also implemented and are now live on Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM).

The transition to Oracle Cloud will allow the three UEM Group subsidiaries to unify the processes of their Procurement, Finance and Human Resource (HR) divisions and operations specifically in Malaysia, thus enabling it to have added control and a clear overview of key functions, following meticulous planning and implementation. The respective UEM Group subsidiaries are able to make decisions on a timely basis supported by hard-data with real-time insights available across Procurement, Finance and HR. The benefit from increased collaboration as well as streamlined processes allows for more coherent workflows which can be easily tracked with maximum efficiency.

“UEM Group embarked on the digital revolution journey as we wanted to revolutionise our technological capabilities and enhance our ability to respond quickly to market changes. Throughout the project, Oracle provided us with significant support and flexibility based on our present-day requirements.

“PLUS, UEM Sunrise and UEM Edgenta will no doubt benefit from Oracle Cloud technology with improved business processes, productivity and performance with less disruption, all of which will allow us to stay ahead in a highly competitive business environment,” said Dato’ Mohd Izani Ghani, Managing Director of UEM Group.

Dato’ Mohd Izani added that UEM Edgenta for example is already benefiting from Oracle’s ERP Cloud technology – its finance department is able to enhance financial visibility and efficiency with almost 50% business time saved to close its books every month.

With Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM, various HR processes at PLUS, UEM Sunrise and UEM Edgenta have been digitised. These include talent management, workforce management and payroll. As a result of the integrated finance and HR processes, due to increased traceability and visibility, all three companies have experienced several positive business outcomes such as lesser hours spent on mundane data compiling and reporting, reduced human errors, and better overall financial control and decision-making.

“We started working with UEM Group more than three years ago and I’m truly honoured to be part of UEM Group’s digital revolution journey,” said Jasbir Singh, Vice President, Software as a Service (SaaS) Applications, Oracle Malaysia. Congratulating UEM Group and its participating subsidiaries on their digital milestone, Jasbir added that: “The transition to the cloud has helped smoothen the embracing of new working habits crucial to today’s new normal. As businesses navigate the current uncertainties, Oracle is looking forward to helping our customers be more agile and adopt new capabilities, as well as fortify business resiliency and adaptability with our complete suite of cloud applications.”
