Barracuda Networks' Load Balancer ADC models 540 and above will now include advanced security features at no additional cost to customers.
Traditional Application Delivery Controller (ADC) platforms can force customers to make a choice between budget and security, which may lead to compromised security. Barracuda’s new approach allows organizations purchasing Barracuda Load Balancer ADC models 540 and above to include advanced application security automatically, giving customers the option of scaling layer 7 application security while managing traffic in their data centers.
Chris Christiansen, Program VP for Security Products and Services, IDC notes that Barracuda was the first vendor to offer anti-virus at no additional charge on its anti-spam solution, and the first to offer anti-spyware at no additional charge on its web content security solution. "We expect the bundling of application security with Barracuda’s Application Delivery Controller will once again transform the midmarket IT security landscape," said Christiansen.
The Barracuda Load Balancer ADC features authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) capabilities, OWASP Top 10 protection, outbound Data Loss Prevention (DLP) monitoring, and application DDoS protection.
