Red Hat, the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today kicked off their flagship event Red Hat Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This year the Red Hat Forum APAC celebrates Red Hat’s 25th anniversary and contributions to open source innovation. Red Hat has been helping enterprises from various industries in Malaysia including the government, financial services, healthcare and telecommunications – gain greater flexibility and agility using open source to help transform and grow their business. With the theme “Ideas Worth Exploring”, the event showcased how open source technology can provide a platform for imagination, a focal point to enable collectively pushing for new possibilities.
One of the highlights of the forum was the Red Hat Innovation Awards APAC 2018, which recognizes customers using open source to address challenges, transform and modernize their organizations’ information technology to help accelerate innovation and agility. AmBank Group and Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) were recognized as the winners from Malaysia at the Red Hat Forum for their outstanding and innovative use of Red Hat solutions.
Damien Wong, Vice President and General Manager, Asian Growth & Emerging Markets, Red Hat also announced Eric Quah as the Country Manager of Red Hat Malaysia at the event. David Robinson, CTO, STT Connect presented the success story of STT Connect. To build its cloud on a flexible, supported open source platform, STT Connect partnered with Red Hat to deploy Red Hat® OpenStack® Platform, Red Hat Ansible® Tower, and other enterprise Red Hat software. These solutions helped the company create an agile and efficient—yet secure—web-scale cloud infrastructure. STT Connect is the first cloud company in Singapore to achieve the highest-level Multi-Tier Cloud Security (MTCS) certification with an OpenStack private cloud.
Damien also shared that together with the open source community, we take on an approach that celebrates collaboration, transparency and sharing that serves as their principles. Open helps to unlock the world’s potential, and helps others remain digitally competitive in the face of disruption.
Red Hat also announced that iZeno as the Advanced Business Partner for Malaysia offering customers and solution builders greater confidence in its partner ecosystem when building their next-generation IT projects using Red Hat technologies.
