ACO Tech Sdn Bhd (ACO Tech) and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) have further cemented their collaboration towards realising the vision of a sustainable smart mobility ecosystem. This was announced in conjunction with the official launch of ACO Tech’s ATLAS operating system, a next-generation automotive infotainment operating system in Malaysia.
The ATLAS will see a further upgrade and expansion of the in-vehicle operating system that combines the Cloud Alpha Edge technologies to construct the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) Big Data Telematics Service Providers (TSPs) platform as the automotive industry continues to quickly evolve. Cloud Alpha Edge, a Cloud AI infrastructure developed by Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and Huawei Malaysia, ensures data sovereignty and localisation for Malaysian businesses in the public and commercial sectors.
By tapping into Huawei Cloud, ACO Tech’s customers will enjoy the power of a reliable, secure, agile and future-ready cloud platform and services that speed up, automate and improve businesses. ACO Tech will also leverage Huawei’s Big Data and AI technologies to bring more benefits to the IoV market and further extend the invitation to other Smart Mobility industry partners to jointly build a more comprehensive as well as thriving IoV ecosystem.
The collaboration will focus on Huawei Cloud technology and ACO Tech’s expertise for smart mobility.
The launch of ATLAS took place in Ampang with the Minister of Transport, Datuk Seri Dr. Wee Ka Siong as the Guest of Honour. Also present were Chairman of ACO Tech, Dr. Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of ACO Tech, Mr Li Pu and Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Malaysia, Mr Michael Yuan.
“We are proud to announce the extension of our collaboration with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) as part of ACO Tech’s regional initiatives to jointly developed cloud-based automotive solutions in a bid to provide innovative, intuitive and localised in-car experiences that make perfect sense to the automotive industry,” said Mr Li Pu, Chief Executive Officer of ACO Tech.
Mr Yuan, in delivering his speech, said Huawei Malaysia strongly believes that ATLAS is crucial in making the difference in the competitive scenario within the automotive industry and that the platform will enhance customer experience and usability, while innovating the company by increasing its business value.
“Cloud computing is the catalyst for the digital transformation of the industry, and we are convinced that the services Huawei Cloud provide are essential in pushing the digital drive across the industry. We are determined to provide reliable, secure, and cost-effective cloud services to help organisations of all sizes grow in today’s intelligent world.
“By incorporating our Big Data and AI technologies, ACO Tech will be able to bring more benefits to the IoV market and invite industry Smart Mobility partners to jointly build a thriving and robust IoV ecosystem. This partnership will also further promote the adoption of smart mobility lifestyles in Malaysia and across the region, bringing digital to every car,” said Mr Michael Yuan.
“This initiative reflects our continuing commitment to our partners that we are here for the long run. We want to transform the business landscape as we know it and capitalise on the potential of advanced technologies,” he added.
Cloud Alpha Edge will continue to serve as a platform to bridge the digital gap and harness the potential of creativity in organisations for a seamless and optimal Cloud experience as Malaysia’s first hyperscale public Cloud.
The ATLAS OS, launched in September and led and developed by a Malaysian team, is an entirely new configuration that operates on Android 10 and higher. To date, ATLAS has delivered entertainment services to over 10,000 in-vehicle customers, with 100,000 projected by the end of 2022.
